Fire Quickly Extinguished in Cobalt Ridge [Video]

A fire broke out at a home on Crestwood Road Sunday night.

Fire trucks from multiple companies screamed toward Crestwood Road in the Levittown section of Middletown Sunday evening for a reported blaze. According to emergency officials, the fire was reported at approximately 6:35 p.m. and was quickly placed under control. Smoke was reported as coming from the house by arriving first responders and PECO was requested to the scene, a post on Bucks County Fire Alerts stated. The fire happened in the 30 block of Crestwood Road. As of press time, no further information was available.

Smoke Causes Evacuation of Neshaminy High School

Smoke from heated hydraulic fluids caused a fire scare Friday at Neshaminy High School.

Neshaminy High School was evacuated Friday morning after smoke from a malfunctioning elevator filled part of the building. One school employee was treated at the scene for injuries by first responders, but refused to go to the hospital for further medical care, Middletown Fire Marshal James McGuire said. The fire marshal said the smoke emanated from heated hydraulic fluids that are used to run the elevator system. No fire was present when emergency crews arrived. School staff and emergency officials were alerted to the issue when the building’s fire detection system was activated by smoke. Volvo Burns in Langhorne Arson

An arson fire is being investigated in the Langhorne section of Middletown, police say.

The cause of a early Wednesday morning car fire at Lance Corporal Harry J. Simmons Jr. Memorial Park in the Langhorne section of Middletown Township has been ruled arson, police said. At 3:38 a.m., police responded to the Brownsville Road park to find a 2005 Volvo on fire in the parking lot. Police say a second unidentified vehicle was seen in the parking lot just before the fire was reported. Anyone with more information is asked to call the Middletown Township Police Department's detective unit at 215-750-3845 ext. 222. The park is named after a decorated Middletown soldier who lost his life in 1967 while serving in Vietnam.

Emergency Team to Meet at Croydon School

Officials say not to be alarmed by a large number of emergency vehicles at Mary Devine Elementary School on Tuesday morning.

Bristol Township School District officials are asking parents and residents not to be alarmed Tuesday morning if they see a large amount of emergency vehicles outside Mary Devine Elementary School in Croydon. The school is set to be the site of the Bucks County Emergency Management Team's regular meeting. "As part of the School District's Safety and Emergency Plan, members of our administration meet regularly with County representatives to review safety procedures," a statement read. Recently, Walt Disney Elementary School in Falls Township was used by Tullytown police as the site of a weekend active shooter training drill.

Injured Teen Airlifted from Technical High School

An emergency medical helicopter took an injured teen from Bucks County Technical High School to the hospital on Thursday.

A medical helicopter operated by the University of Pennsylvania landed at Bucks County Technical High School on Thursday morning to rush an injured teen to the hospital. The 14-year-old boy suffers from "brittle bone disease" and fractured his femur during school. Emergency medical crews deemed it in the victim's best interest to transport him via helicopter, Principal Mary Kelly said. Local fire crews established a landing zone at the high school in Bristol Township so the distinctive blue and white helicopter was able to land and transport the 14-year-old to a city hospital just before 10 a.m., emergency officials said. Kelly said the teen was just walking when his femur "snapped." The genetic disease is characterized by fragile bones …

Firefighters Make Quick Stop of Penndel Fire

Fire damaged a home in Penndel Borough on Monday afternoon. No injuries were reported.

A fire that started on the back porch of a home in the 100 block Dehaven Avenue in Penndel late Monday afternoon left a family temporarily homeless. Firefighters were dispatched to the home at 4:45 p.m. and arrived to find heavy smoke and fire running up the back exterior of the two-story home, Penndel Fire Marshal James Bampfield and Penndel Fire Company Battalion Chief Gabe Fox said. Bampfield said fire crews made an "aggressive attack" and were able to put the fire under control in about 25 minutes. Flames spread into a portion of the rear kitchen on the first floor of the home, while the bulk of the flames remained on the outside of the house, Bampfield said. The fire was reported by a neighbor and no one was injured, officials said. …

Space Heater Likely Cause of Bloomsdale Fire

A space heater in a house without a working heat system is likely to blame for a early Tuesday morning blaze in Bristol Township.

An early morning fire that struck a home in the 2300 block of Bloomsdale was likely caused by a space heater, fire investigators said. Firefighters were dispatched to Bloomsdale after a passing motorist reported the home was ablaze, Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito told Patch. Crews arrived to find flames coming from the bedroom, according to reports. The home was unoccupied at the time of the blaze, Dippolito said. He added that the home did not have working heat and the residents were staying with friends or family before the fire struck. Fire Decimates Falls Township Mobile Home

A early morning fire destroyed a mobile home in Fairless Hills on Friday.

A raging fire destroyed a mobile home in the 100 block of Hover Road in the Fairless Hills section of Falls Township early Friday morning. Fire crews from around Levittown were dispatched to the mobile home park just before 2 a.m. and arrived to find fire coming from the scene, emergency reports stated. Crews immediately went into service and were able to stop the flames, reports indicated. The fire claimed one mobile home and a neighboring unit suffered heat damage. According to a report on PhillyFireNews.com, one person was treated by the Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad for a laceration wound. Early Morning Fire Hits Blue Ridge Home

A home in the Levittown section of Bristol Township was struck by a fire early Monday morning.

No one was injured in a fire that damage the house at 64 Border Rock Road in the Levittown section of Bristol Township early Monday morning. Fire crews responded to the blaze at 2:02 a.m. and arrived to heavy smoke and fire coming from the rear of the dwelling, Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito said. The cause of the fire remains undermined and the investigation is ongoing. the fire appeared to have emanated from the back of the house, Dippolito said. An adult male was the only occupant home and was alerted to the fire by a smoke detector, the fire marshal said. The smoke detector was key and likely saved the man's life, he added. The Red Cross assisted the man with clothing and food vouchers, Dippolito said.

Sunday Night Croydon Marina Fire Called 'Suspicious'

A fire that destroyed two boats in the Croydon section of Bristol Township is being investigated as suspicious, officials say.

Authorities plan to resume their investigation into what caused two boats to catch fire at a Croydon marina late Sunday night. Crews from the Croydon, Union and Cornwalls fire companies were dispatched to the Snug Harbor Marina on the Neshaminy Creek for a report of flames at around 11:15 p.m., Bristol Township Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito said. Officials found the two dry-docked boats ablaze. Special firefighting foam was used to extinguish the fire which was exacerbated by the vessels' fuel, Dippolito said. The fire marshal said the cause of the fire is suspicious, but an investigation can not be completed until foam used to fight the fire dissipates.
