Concerned Gun Owners Meet During Shootout

Coincidentally, the Concerned Gun Owners of Bucks County met during a shootout at the Jefferson on the Creek apartment complex in Warminster on Tuesday.

As police officers began a seven-hour stand-off Tuesday night with alleged gunman Andrew Cairns, which included an exchange of gunfire that resulted in the death of 85-year-old Marie Zienkewicz, a meeting of the Concerned Gun Owners of Bucks County was in session a few blocks away at the Warminster VFW. Attempted Robbery Reported at Route 13 Burger King

A man concealed his face during an attempt to rob the Burger King in Bristol Borough after dark on Wednesday.

A man with a handgun tried to rob the Burger King at Route 13 and Beaver Dam Road in Bristol Borough at 9:40 p.m. Wednesday. According to Investigations Sgt. Randy Morris, a man entered the fast food joint and jumped the counter. Once behind the counter, he pulled a handgun and confronted the manager about the store's money. The suspect appeared to get "spooked" and ran from the restaurant, Morris said. No customers were in the store and no employees were hurt, police said. Officers from the borough and township responded and searched the woods behind the Burger King, Morris told Patch. Gun Discovered by Officer on Patrol in Levittown

A 33-year-old was caught in a suspicious situation in Bristol Township earlier this week.

A black handgun, duct tape, screwdrivers and a pair of tan work gloves were discovered by police when they stopped to question a man who claimed he was waiting for a friend in Levittown’s Violetwood section before dawn on Monday. A Bristol Township patrol officer spotted Joseph Piazza, 33, of Vista Road, kneeling down, remaining still in front of a parked truck in the driveway of a home in the 100 block of Violetwood Drive, according to an affidavit of probable cause. The officer shined a car-mounted spotlight in the area. Piazza then walk down the driveway and told the patrolman he was waiting for his friend, court documents said. Arrest in Alleged Gun Incident; Knifepoint Robbery Reported

The man arrested for an alleged gun incident was taken into custody by the same officer in 2002.

  Bristol police on Thursday night arrested a 29-year-old man accused of committing a robbery with gun. Slightly more than an hour later, police responded to a reported knifepoint robbery.    Robbery Involving a Gun Philadelphia resident Chad Braun was arrested just after 9 p.m. in the area of Fourth and New York avenues in the Croydon section of the township. Court records show that he was a resident of Croydon as recently as February 2012. The 29-year-old was charged with robbery, terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person, simple assault and possessing instrument of a crime, according to police and court dockets.
