Truman Falls To Council Rock North 63-10

The Lady Tigers had a rough night Tuesday after a bad start led to their worst loss of the season

The Lady Tigers basketball team had little to get excited about Tuesday night as they fell to the Council Rock North Lady Indians 63-10 in Newtown. After the junior varsity team kept it close but fell just short of beating the Indians, the varsity squad came out and did not expect what was about to happen next – the worst loss of the season. The Tigers were stunned as the Indians outscored them 27-0 in the first quarter. The hustle and intensity was simply not there for Truman, who shied away from the fundamentals early and seemingly waived the white surrender flag before the end of the first half. Everyone in the gymnasium let out a sigh of relief when Kaijah Willis ended the shutout with a foul shot. But the woes continued even after …

Truman Falls In Trojan Holiday Classic 57-48

The Tigers got off to a slow start on Tuesday and it eventually cost them

The Harry S. Truman Tigers found themselves matched up against an opponent they were unfamiliar with on Tuesday at the Trojan Holiday Classic and in the end they could not keep up with Central Bucks East's rebounding as they lost 57-48. They were coming off 53-45 loss to Bensalem just before Christmas and hoped the tournament would be just what they need to help a mediocre season in which the Tigers are 3-3 but it did not go as they had planned, especially around the boards as they were out-rebounded 27-8. "It was very frustrating," coach Alan Munford said after the loss. "I thought tonight was the opportunity for us to go out and executed. Their zone defense messed us up a little bit." The Patriots got out to a quick 8-0 lead but then …

Lady Tigers Fall To Bensalem 60-31, Remain Winless

After a slow first period, the Tigers found themselves in a hole they simply could not climb out of.

The 0-2 Bensalem Lady Owls came out strong and got off to a big lead early. But in the end, it was a hole simply too big for the Tigers to climb out of as they lost at home Tuesday night 60-31. It was one mistake after another for the Tigers and before they knew it they were trailing by 10 points minutes into the contest. By halftime, the girls were trailing by 16 and needed to find a spark to get them going. "[Tigers] came out lacking confidence, which means I need to change my game plan again," Tigers coach L. Collette Munford said. "I have a lot of young girls. They got a chance to play and did well. They had plenty of playing time and they didn't give up." For the Tigers, the second half had much of the same woes, however, they did …
