Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that took place on I-95 North in Bensalem Township on Saturday. The accident happened at 10:12 p.m. near mile-marker 36.5 just north of exit 37, a police report said. At that time, a 24-year-old woman from Ewing, N.J., was traveling in the middle lane, when a driver who was traveling in the left lane swerved into her lane and struck the driver side front door of her Pontiac G6. After the impact, the striking vehicle fled the scene, according to police. The Pontiac sustained damage on the driver side door, driver side mirror and driver side fender, police said. The driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident turned himself in to authorities, Bensalem Police say.
The man responsible for a Tuesday morning hit-and-run accident that killed at 71-year-old pedestrian turned himself in to authorities, police said. Mario Rodriguez-Morales, 40, of the 2900 block of Knights Road, turned himself in to Bensalem Police after leaving the scene of a hit and run at Knights Road just north of Dunksferry Road that killed a pedestrian, according to police. Bensalem Police reported to the scene at 6:09 a.m. Police identified the victim as Madanago Bakthavatchalu, a 71-year-old resident of the 2500 block of Knight Road. Police responded a carjacking in Croydon and a strange accident involving a school bus.
Bristol Township police have handled a carjacking and hit-and-run crash involving a school bus over the past few days. Just after midnight on Wednesday, a man was approached by three black males and carjacked in the 1700 block of Newport Road in Croydon, police reported. One of the suspects displayed a handgun. The trio demanded the victim's car and wallets during the incident, police said. The victim was able to get free from the area and get help, but his car and wallet were taken. According to township police, the vehicle is a gray 2008 Chevrolet Impala. DDB2500 is the vehicle's registration. The 24-year-old man who struck and killed Eric Beck with his dark-colored Audi along New Falls Road in Bristol Township plead guilty to homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence, failure to stop and render aid and several connected charges Thursday in court, PhillyBurbs.com reported. Bristol Township resident Charles Horrocks, who had a suspended license at the time, struck 36-year-old Beck as he walked home from a nearby bar where he was celebrating with his brothers. A 26-year-old man was critically injured after a hit-and-run accident in Levittown, 6 Action News reports. It happened around 12:30 Sunday morning on 4900 block of New Falls Road in Middletown. John Rearick, 26, was walking when he was struck by a car and left on the roadway. Between May 20-24, Trevose troopers responded to the following incidents: On May 20 at 3:05 a.m., state police stopped a vehicle on I-95 northbound near Exit 37 in Bensalem. The driver, Rafael J. Police said a suspected counterfeit $5 bill was discovered during an attempted exchange by a 60-year-old male from Philadelphia at a cashier. Trooper R. Keeys investigated the incident. State police are investigating an act of criminal mischief that took place in the 300 block of N. Bellevue Avenue, Langhorne, between March 3 at 7:30 p.m. and March 4 at 9:30 a.m. The victim reported that someone scratched his two vehicles – a 2010 Jaguar and a 2011 Subaru Forester. Bristol Township police found the dark-colored Audi that struck and killed a 36-year-old Levittown man.
Fox Philadelphia reports that 23-year-old Charles Horrocks was arrested in connection to the hit-and-run death of a 36-year-old Levittown man. Police said they found the dark-colored Audi involved in the hit-and-run accident that happened near the intersection of New Falls Road and Holly Drive early Sunday morning, according to NBC Philadelphia. Bristol Township police said the man, identified as Eric Beck, was struck while he was walking east on New Falls Road, NBC reports. Between Jan. 28 and Feb. 2, Trevose troopers investigated the following incidents: On Jan. 28 at 1:15 p.m., state police stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on I-95 northbound at Exit 44 in Middletown. Police arrest David Bertino, 34, of Fairless Hills, and Richard Alpaugh, 21, of Bensalem. Both had active warrants from Philadelphia and Falls Township. A search of the vehicle yielded five baggies of suspected heroin, two needles and two empty baggies of suspected cocaine.
