Pennsbury Manor Holding Annual Holly Nights Celebration

The annual event will be held Thursday and Friday at the historical property.

On Thursday, December 6 and Friday, December 7, Pennsbury Manor will be lighting the lights for their annual Holly Nights celebration. A tradition for over 35 years, these two enchanted evenings are filled with the sights and sounds of the holiday season. Starting each evening at 6:00 pm and continuing until 9:00 pm, the nights will be filled with activities for the entire family. Grab your coat, gather family and friends and join in the celebration as William Penn’s 17th-century plantation comes alive. Step back in time as hundreds of luminaries and candles cast a warm glow around the 43-acre historic site. Follow the pathways to the Yule log bonfire to warm up or toss in a sprig of green. The Brunette Lucy

Getting Ready for Christmas

Lucy remembers Christmas traditions with her family as she also says goodbye to Patch.

I hand it to all of you who venture out into the world on Black Friday. The day after Thanksgiving, I can barely rouse myself out of bed due to the turkey, stuffing and pie-induced coma I’m in. The tree goes up that weekend, and I’ll watch every sappy Christmas movie ever made – twice – while I decorate and bake. Students from Neshaminy School District's Pearl Buck Elementary helped decorate the Pearl S. Buck house for the holidays.

Pearl Buck students in grades K-5 were invited to participate in the 34th annual Festival of Trees at the Pearl S. Buck House in Perkasie. Students in Mrs. McGuigan’s art classes created ornaments for the festival tree, including ceramic doves, pipe cleaner candy canes, paper stained-glass ornaments, and button decorated stars, hearts, and oval ornaments. In addition, every student in the school signed a tree skirt createdby Pearl Buck parent Leslie Maxwell. The Pearl Buck Elementary School Tree is located on the second floor landing outside of Miss Buck’s bedroom. Local artists, decorators, and Pearl S. Buck fans have been commissioned to design the holiday room décor in hopes of capturing the visitors’ votes for the “Best Display” during…
