Students Honor MLK With 'Rainbow' People
Manor Elementary School students took time to honor the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Manor Elementary School students took time to honor the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Teacher Vicki Seiler said students read a book that encourages the celebration of diversity. Afterwards, students in each grade level made "rainbow people" to represent all of mankind. Students finished the project by writing a saying about celebrating differences. Seiler said each student's quote was placed in a heart and glued to a personally decorated "rainbow" figure. All of the completed figures were then mounted on the walls of Manor to create a colorful display and to underscore the appreciation of diversity in our culture.
