Phillies' Carlos Ruiz to Visit Oxford Valley Mall

Starting catcher Carlos Ruiz will be signing autographs at the mall Monday evening.

  Philadelphia Phillies player Carlos "Chooch" Ruiz will be signing autographs at the Oxford Valley Mall Monday evening. The signing, which will begin at 6:00 p.m., is open to those who purchased tickets through Dynasty Sports. Ruiz was first set to appear at the mall last week, but the signing was delayed due to change in the Phillies' playing schedule. A limited number of tickets remain, according to the mall's Facebook page, and can be purchased by calling 215-757-3961. Bank Robbery Suspect Crashes Car in Middletown

A man suspected of robbing the First Federal Bank in Middletown this morning crashed his car near the Oxford Valley Mall.

A car driven by a suspected bank robber making a get-away was headed on the wrong side of Oxford Valley Road about 11:30 this morning, according to emergency scanner reports. Contrary to initial reports, police were not chasing the suspect, officials told Action News, but the suspect must have panicked during his escape, prompting him to race his car. Fairless Hills Man Charged With Sex Assault On Teen

Northampton police said pair met at the United Artist movie house at Oxford Valley Mall.

A 21-year-old Bucks County man was arrested after police alleged he had sex with a 14-year-old Northampton girl in late March, police said. Zachary "Zac" Opielski, of Yorkshire Road in Fairless Hills, was charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a victim under 16 years of age, statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault of a person less than 16 years of age and unlawful contact with a minor, according to court records. Northampton police said the victim met Opielski in the concessions line at the United Artist movie house at Oxford Valley Mall in Middletown Township in February. Dr. Seuss 75th Anniversary Event Brings In Full House

Families gathered at the Oxford Valley Mall to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the publishing of Dr. Seuss’ first-ever published book.

  Scores of parents and their children gathered at the Oxford Valley Mall to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the publishing of Dr. Seuss’ first-ever published book And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street. Children were treated to the whimsical world of Dr. Seuss with event VIP Cat in the Hat, an in-mall book reading and a screening of PBS Kids The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That during the event that took place on Saturday. This year's event enjoyed strong attendance, with nearly double the number of visitors that turned out last year, according to a news release.

Dr. Seuss Comes to Oxford Valley Mall

The mall will celebrate the 75th anniversary of Theodor Seuss Geisel’s first-ever published children’s book, "And To Think That I Saw it on Mulberry Street."

Families are invited to celebrate Dr. Seuss and his first-ever published children's book at "75 Years of Imagination" at Oxford Valley Mall on Saturday, Feb. 25, at 1 p.m. The celebration—which is sponsored by Simon Kidgits Club, Dr. Seuss Enterprises L.P. and Random House Children's Books—marks the 75th anniversary of Theodor Seuss Geisel's "And To Think That I Saw it on Mulberry Street." First 100 Shoppers To Receive Goodie Bags

Black Friday is a day usually filled with craziness and stress, but Oxford Valley Mall officials said they are looking to relieve some of that by pampering shoppers.  Malls doors will open at 4 a.m. on Nov. 25. According to a news release, the first 100 shoppers will receive goodie bags that include mugs and other treats. "We want to make sure that all our visitors are happy and satisfied with their experience at Oxford Valley Mall," Director of Marketing for the Oxford Valley Mall Jim Malervy said. Guest services will also have small treats for shoppers during the entire day. A rejuvenation station in front of the Coach store with a sitting area, magazines and newspapers for those who need a break will also be in the mall on the busy day…

Santa Arrives At Oxford Valley Mall

Santa arrives at Oxford Valley Mall on Saturday, Nov. 5. Santa's arrival will be marked with a parade and breakfast for children, according to a news release.  Radio Disney will kick off the day at 8 a.m. with a parade before hundreds of Simon Kidgits members settle into the food court for a breakfast with Santa. Along with music, activities and prizes will be given away on the second floor near the food court. Radio Disney will be there until 10 a.m. Neshaminy High School's marching band will also perform in the parade with Santa. Oxford Valley Mall Paints Itself Pink For Big sMall Walk

Mall Walk To Benefit The Bott Cancer Center At Holy Redeemer Hospital

The Oxford Valley Mall is partnering with The Bott Cancer Center at Holy Redeemer Hospital for the Second Annual Big sMall Two-Mile Walk for Breast Cancer -- part of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month or "Pink October." According to a news release, the mall will host the walk starting at 8:30 a.m. on Sat., Oct. 29. It consists of a two-mile walk set for the first floor of the Oxford Valley Mall. Dr. Beth DuPree, director of the breast health program at Holy Redeemer, and Dr. Stacy Krisher, of Comprehensive Breast Care Surgeons, will kick-off the event and educate participants on breast health. 2 NJ Men Arrested In Oxford Valley Mall Theft

Middletown Township police said they made two arrests. Two Ewing, N.J., men were arrested for theft. Police said 21-year-old Jerome Christie and 20-year-old Irving Bruno stole $330 worth of merchandise from Sears at Oxford Valley Mall. It happened at 4:57 p.m. Sunday. A 21-year-old Levittown woman was cited after a domestic dispute. It happened on Red Rose Drive at 7:23 p.m. Wednesday. Police said Melissa Blystone was cited for criminal mischief, harassment and disorderly conduct.   Police also reported thefts in the area. Someone gained entry into the old Veterinary Specialties hospital on West Old Lincoln Highway sometime between July 28 and Wednesday and took a 32-inch flat screen TV and five security cameras, police reported. Viewfinder: Shopping For A Sweetie Event

A student from Ewing, New Jersey was awarded a $1,400 scholarship with the SYF Community Scholarship Program.

A high school student from New Jersey was presented with a $1,400 scholarship during the Shopping for a Sweetie event at Oxford Valley Mall on Thursday night. The Simon Youth Foundation Community Scholarship Program seeks to meet the financial needs of promising students in communities that host Simon properties, according to a news release. The scholarship program is available to high school seniors living near a Simon property who plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational/technical school. The winners are considered at-risk youth.   Thursday’s event also included a date auction emceed by Fox 29 TV personality Jennaphr Frederick.
