From the Bristol Township School District: Drew Mickolas, a senior at Harry S. Truman High School, has accepted a four-year scholarship to Trinity College in Hartford, Conn. The scholarship, valued at $246,000, covers tuition, room and board, books, fees and some personal expenses. Mickolas, who was selected in his junior year as a QuestBridge National College match scholar, was introduced to Trinity through Questbridge. He plans to major in Public Policy and chose Trinity because it is “a highly regarded, smaller college with a good learning environment.” Questbridge is a national organization that seeks out high performing high school students and introduces them to a network of top colleges and universities. TMA Bucks (Transportation Management Association) announced June 8, that six Bucks County high school seniors who plan to pursue a course of post high school study in civil engineering, urban planning, transportation management or other related field have each been awarded scholarships from the TMA Bucks Scholarship Fund. High school seniors have until April 15 to apply for the Dunkin' Donuts Philadelphia Regional Scholarship Program. Scholarships of $1,000 will be awarded to well-rounded students who excel academically and in other leadership and community activities. PSU student David Zdancewicz receives the Pennsylvania Space Grant Consortium Undergraduate Scholarship for 2011.
A Pennsbury High School graduate is awarded a prestigious scholarship. Pennsylvania State University student David Zdancewicz received the Pennsylvania Space Grant Consortium Undergraduate Scholarship for 2011, according to a news release. Zdancewicz graduated from Pennsbury High School in 2008. The Fallsington native said that he has a longstanding interest in space and the development of space-related technologies. "I believe the continued exploration and economic development of our solar system represents the single greatest project for technological progress in the next century," Zdancewicz said. Neshaminy High School seniors Andrew Ramirez and Zachary Cooperman received scholarships Tuesday.
At Neshaminy High School Tuesday, seniors Andrew Ramirez and Zachary Cooperman were surprised with scholarships for college. Ramirez, of Levittown, was awarded with the Helen R. Bates Scholarship worth $20,000. Cooperman, of Levittown, was presented with an $8,000 check from the Detective Christopher Jones Scholarship Fund. Both were the first recipents of these scholarships. "It's unbelievable. It's probably the best thing that's ever happened to me," Ramirez said of receiving the scholarship. In the fall, he will be studying middle school education for grade four through eight at West Chester University. More than 80 awards and scholarships were presented to graduating seniors at a ceremony at PHS East this past week
Graduating seniors were honored for their academic, musical, and artistic achievements last Wednesday at Pennsbury High School East. Award-winning seniors and their guests were invited to the ceremony without knowledge of exactly what award(s) they had won. While some knew exactly what awards they would win, others were surprised. The awards presented by the faculty last Wednesday night included the following categories: special awards, service awards, cultural awards, and academic awards. The special awards category includes National Merit Commended students and National Merit Scholarship finalists.
