The son of Detective Sgt. Luddie Austin from the A&E reality show, "Manhunters: Fugitive Task Force" was shot dead on Tuesday.
The 18-year-old son of a reality television star was shot dead in a Tuesday afternoon murder across the Delaware River in Trenton, N.J. NJ.com identified the gunshot victim as James Austin, son of former Trenton police Detective Sgt. Luddie Austin and one of stars of the A&E reality show, "Manhunters: Fugitive Task Force." James Austin was shot in the chest while visiting the mother of his two children on East State Street in the afternoon hours, The Trenonian reported. Andrew Cairns pleads innocent to charges of attempted murder after police say he engaged them in a firefight Tuesday evening.
Andrew Cairns was brought to a Warminster courtroom Wednesday afternoon for a preliminary arraignment on multiple charges stemming from an alleged shootout he had with Police Tuesday. Police said Cairns’ 90-year-old neighbor was killed in the exchange of gunfire. Bucks County Assistant District Attorney Matt Weintraub said Cairns knowingly risked the life of up to six police officers when he shot at them, attempting to kill them Tuesday evening. Cairns pled not guilty to District Justice Daniel Finello on charges of attempted murder, assault of a law enforcement officer, aggravated assault, multiple counts of recklessly endangering another person and other related offenses. Police converged on a Warminster apartment building Tuesday night where a man allegedly exchanged gunfire with police, leaving a 90-year-old dead, according to reports.
UPDATED: 1:50 a.m. Warminster police are evacuating an apartment complex and nearby residents while a standoff with an alleged gunman continues. Police were called to the Jefferson on the Creek apartment complex, 675 E. Street Rd., Warminster, for a domestic disturbance at about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and "were met with gufire," according to Warminster Police Chief Mike Murphy. The police and the gunman had a "firefight for a short period of time" before the man barricaded himself and his common law wife inside the apartment, Murphy said. A middle-aged man is in critical condition after shooting himself Friday night in Bristol Borough.
A middle-aged Bristol Borough man shot himself and then asked a responding police officer to kill him Friday night. The man, who police have had contact with before, is in critical condition at Aria Hospital after a self-inflected gunshot wound to the head, Detective Sgt. Randy Morris said. According to Morris, arriving officers found the seriously wounded man walking and pleading for them to shoot him dead. Morris commended the officer on how the situation was handled. A bizarre weekend incident in Levittown involved three shots fired in Colbolt Ridge.
A alleged wild night led to shots being fired over the weekend in Levittown. Francis Zydzik, 56, of Circle Road in the Levittown section of Middletown, is charged with felony aggravated assault charges and several misdemeanor charges of reckless endangerment and simple assault, according to a docket sheet. The incident is alleged to have started Saturday at about 10 p.m. with a son picking his intoxicated father up from bar and ended with three shots fired at from a handgun. A man was hit with multiple shotgun blasts in Levittown early Saturday. The two suspects then fled the scene and tried to run.
Two young Bristol Township men were arrested after a foot pursuit following a robbery that left a man shot early Saturday morning. Aaron Day, 20, of Fleetwing Drive, and Jacob Pemberton, 18, of Pacific Avenue, were taken into custody and charged with attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, robbery, aggravated assault, theft, fleeing and eluding police other related offenses. According to an affidavit of probable cause, the robbery incident started in front of the J and R Check Cashing and Pawn Shop at Five Points and ended with a large amount of blood and “human tissue” behind the New Falls Road Acme store in the Levittown section of Bristol Township. Police are looking for two suspects that fired four shots in a makeshift apartment on Haines Road. Two bullets struck a man.
The investigation into the Bristol Township shooting that left a 49-year-old man with a bullet to the thigh and ankle continued Wednesday, police said. Lt. Terry Hughes said officers responded to a possible robbery and shooting in a structure behind My Brothers Pub at 1542 Haines Road in Levittown just after 8 p.m. Tuesday. The arriving patrol officers found a 49-year-old white male suffering from two gunshot wounds. The man was taken to St. Mary Medical Center by the Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad and treated, Hughes said. A Trenton man is in custody for firing two shots at a Bristol Township gas station.
When police officers stopped a gold 2000 Dodge Intrepid on Monday, a 22-year-old man stepped out with a handgun. Police were able to safely take Trenton resident Bias Robinson into custody after he is alleged to have fired two rounds from a Ruger .40 caliber gun just minutes earlier, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed by Bristol Township authorities. Police said the suspect fired two rounds at the Sunoco gas station in the 1200 block of Veterans Highway (Route 413) just after 8:30 p.m. on Monday.
