3 Charged in Kidnapping for Ransom Headed to Trial
Three Levittown residents are charged with holding young woman for $700 ransom in November will face trial in Doylestown.
Levittown residents Shawn Gruber, 21, Nicole Gruber, 20, and David B. Sherman, 21, waived their right to a preliminary hearing this week and are headed to trial. The trio are charged with criminal use of a communication facility, unlawful restraint and several other varying offenses. In late November 2012, Tullytown Borough responded to a call from a Shadetree Lane mother who stated she received a call demanding $700 to be delivered to the women's bathroom at the Taco Bell in Tullytown. If the mother didn’t comply, the voice on the phone said they would “blow her daughter’s head off,” according to court documents. New York City Man Arrested by Narcotics Cops
A 27-year-old alleged to be selling drugs was arrested Sunday by cops in Tullytown.
A New York City man after he sold undercover narcotics officers an ounce of cocaine, police said. Wilson Mateo, 27, of New York City, was arrested Sunday morning at the Levittown SEPTA Station in Tullytown, according to court documents and police. The cocaine he had was valued at $2,000 on the street, police said. Mateo was taken into custody without incident, officials stated. The 27-year-old was charged with possession with intent to deliver controlled substance, criminal use of communication facility and dealing in proceeds of unlawful activities, court records show. District Judge Mark Duple arraigned Mateo. He remains in county jail on in lieu of 10 percent of $100,000 bail.

'Abuse' of Subpoena Costs Ex-Tullytown Councilman His Job
Former Tullytown Councilman George Fox will not face charges.
Former Tullytown Borough councilman George Fox has lost his job as a clerk with the Bucks County Prothonotary department after an investigation by the district attorney found he issued two unauthorised subpoenas. While Fox will not be facing any criminal charges, District Attorney David Heckler wrote in a letter to Prothonotary Patricia L. Bachtle that labeled the clerk’s actions as “misconduct” and an “abuse” of the subpoena system. Fox overstepped his legitimate authority when he purchased a subpoena, stamped it with the county seal and delivered it to Farm and Home Oil on Levittown Parkway in Tullytown as part of an effort to compel them to show him security camera footage from their property, Hecker said. “The purpose for which Mr. Fox…

Former Levittown Sonic Sits Vacant
What would you like to see replace the former Sonic?
It's drive-in stalls were once filled with carhops on skates delivering orders of foot-long coney hot dogs and burgers to earger customers, but the former Sonic off Route 13 in Tullytown Borough now sits vacant, partically surrounded by orange contruction fence. The Tullytown location closed in early 2012. The former Lower Southampton location closed in summer of 2011 and has already been re-purposed into a Dunkin Donuts and small strip shopping center.

Massive Route 13 Overhaul to Begin Soon
The Route 13 project will add sidewalks, reconstruct bridges, medians, get rid of many jug handles and reduce some lanes of travel, officials tell Patch.
After more than a dozen years of talk and speculation, the Route 13 revitalization project is expected to begin in just weeks. The project will begin at the end of January when contractors will begin utility work and drainage installation in the area of Route 13 and Green Lane, PennDOT spokesperson Charles Metzger said. The estimated $40 million project will revamp the roadway from Veterans Highway (Route 413) to the Levittown Parkway. The communities of Bristol, Bristol Township and Tullytown will be impacted by the project. Crews will revitalize the busy commuter route by creating a new median, reconstructing the roadway, adding left turn lanes and ridding the area of several jug handles. Man Facing Assault Charges After Fight with Police, EMTs
Police officers had to use a stun gun on a man, who then began to physically fight officers and EMTs. Tullytown police were escorting the man.
After getting kicked off a train in at the statio in Tullytown, a 42-year-old New Jersey man assaulted local EMTs and police officers, resulting in a slew of charges and officers using a stun gun on him. Tuesday, Dec. 18, Lower Southampton Police received a call from the Tullytown Police for officers and the Tri-Hampton Rescue Squad to meet them at Suburban Diner in Feasterville where the man was passed out. Tullytown officers had transported the man to the diner after he got kicked off of a train to be picked up there by his mother. When in the back of the ambulance, EMTs saw a pill container in the man's back pocket and when they tried to take it, the man assaulted them. We've put together a listing of where you can see Santa Claus escorted by local fire companies. Bristol Township: Levittown Fire Company #2 will be taking Santa Claus around the following sections starting at 7 p.m.: The fire company said the dates may change without notice. Two Pennsbury School Board Members Say 'No' to VP Pick
The Pennsbury School Board reorganized Monday night and talked about recouping the cost of their court fight against Concerned Residents of Pennsbury.
Not all the members of the Pennsbury School Board were pleased with the election of Gary Sanderson to the post of vice president. At Monday night's special reorganization meeting at Fallsington Elementary School, board members Simon Campbell and Dr. Stephan Kosmorsky voted against the election of Sanderson to vice president. Campbell, who previously served in the role, said he felt the fact that Sanderson's campaign manager, Bob Harvie, was a union teacher at Bucks County Technical High School served as a conflict of interest. Harvie is also chairman of the Falls Township Board of Supervisors. Campbell, a Republican, also claimed that registered Democrat Sanderson's campaign was financially supported by union teachers. Police Rescue Woman Held Unlawfully After Bad Drug Deal
Police and county authorities arrested three people after they held a young woman for $700 ransom Sunday night in Tullytown.
A scary Sunday evening for a young woman in Tullytown started with a drug deal gone bad. Police responded to a call from a Shadetree Lane mother who stated she received a call just after 5 p.m. demanding $700 to be delivered to the women's bathroom at the Tullytown Taco Bell. If the mother didn’t comply, the voice on the phone said they would “blow her daughter’s head off,” according to court documents. Officers responded to get more details from the mother.
