Police received reports of six thefts from vehicles between Friday and Sunday, according to a recent Bristol Borough police blotter. Four of the thefts took place in close proximity to one another and loose change was taken from most of the vehicles. Cars parked on the 300 block of Cleveland Street, the 300 block of McKinely, the 2000 and 2100 block of Farragut Avenue had items stolen from them, according to police reports: A few blocks away, a center console tray with change was stolen from a vehicle parked on the 1500 block of Wilson Avenue, the report said. A home on the 800 block of Pine Street in Bristol was burglarized, according to a March 8 police blotter. Bristol Borough police are looking for a man who stole a woman's purse in the Walmart in Bristol Borough.
Police in Bristol Borough are looking for a man who knocked a woman to the ground and stole her purse Monday night. The strong-arm robbery occurred at the Walmart on Commerce Circle at 7:31 p.m., police said. A suspect knocked the female victim to the ground and stole her purse. He then fled toward Veterans Highway (Route 431) through the Bristol Cemetery, police said. The suspect is described by officials as being a stocky black male between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-7. A middle-aged man is in critical condition after shooting himself Friday night in Bristol Borough.
A middle-aged Bristol Borough man shot himself and then asked a responding police officer to kill him Friday night. The man, who police have had contact with before, is in critical condition at Aria Hospital after a self-inflected gunshot wound to the head, Detective Sgt. Randy Morris said. According to Morris, arriving officers found the seriously wounded man walking and pleading for them to shoot him dead. Morris commended the officer on how the situation was handled. A 35-year-old man was arrested following an incident at Warren Snyder-John Girotti Elementary School where he threatened to "blow" a school employee away.
A 35-year-old man was arrested for an incident at Warren Snyder-John Girotti Elementary School in Bristol Borough. Edwin Landman, of Garfield Street, went to the elementary school Tuesday to pick up his daughter, police said. The father became very angry when a school employee asked to see his identification before he could enter the building, according to a police criminal complaint. "What the f--- for?" courts documents quote Landman as saying to the school employee. According to court documents, Landman eventually produced identification and was let into the school. An armed robbery at the Dollar General on Route 13 and police activity around Cleveland Street made for an interesting evening in Bristol Borough on Thursday. According to emergency radio reports and a county dispatch official, police were summoned to the Dollar General along Route 13 (Bristol Pike) at around 5 p.m. for reports of an armed robbery. An alert from the Breaking News Network, a service that monitors police radio transmissions, reported the robbery suspect was a "stocky white male" armed with a handgun. A man concealed his face during an attempt to rob the Burger King in Bristol Borough after dark on Wednesday.
A man with a handgun tried to rob the Burger King at Route 13 and Beaver Dam Road in Bristol Borough at 9:40 p.m. Wednesday. According to Investigations Sgt. Randy Morris, a man entered the fast food joint and jumped the counter. Once behind the counter, he pulled a handgun and confronted the manager about the store's money. The suspect appeared to get "spooked" and ran from the restaurant, Morris said. No customers were in the store and no employees were hurt, police said. Bristol Borough Police cited a 42-year-old man, of Trenton, with retail theft at the Commerce Park Wal-mart Dec. 22, 2012. A vehicle parked on Radcliff Street was keyed Dec. 20 at about 12:50 p.m. There was an unknown amount of damage. A 24-year-old Bristol man was cited for criminal trespassing on 5th Avenue Dec. 23 at about 4:01 a.m. A laptop was stolen from a Nissam Maxima parked at the Commerce Park Dollar Tree Dec. 24 at about 5:05 p.m. Rocks were thrown at a Ford Mustang parked on Garfield Street causing damage to the passenger side window and door as well as the driver's side door and window. Another week, another copper theft from a PECO substation in the Levittown area. Bristol Borough police say they are looking for the culprit who took "several lengths" of copper wire from the substation at the corner of Linden and Mifflin streets. Recent thefts at the Rite Aid in the Commerce Park shopping center in Bristol Borough are being investigated. Two women in scrubs stole 2 HD LED television sets and a DVD player from the store, police said. The crime happened last Sunday at around 3:20 p.m. The first suspect is being described as a light-skinned black female with "blondish red" hair and gray scrubs. Her accomplice was of similar complexion with black curly hair and doned a pink pair of scrubs, according to a police report. About an hour after the theft on Sunday was reported, the nearby Walmart called police to alert them of a stolen Eureka vacuum cleaner.
