Solemn Ceremony Marks Anniversary of Officer's Death

On Tuesday, police and members of the community marked the passing of Middletown Detective Chris Jones.

A ceremony was held Tuesday evening at the Middletown Township Municipal Complex to mark the anniversary of Detective Christopher Jones' passing. Jones died on Jan. 29, 2009 when he was struck  by a drunk driver while conducting a traffic stop just off of the I-95 interchange on Route 1. Jones, who left behind his wife and three children, was posthumously promoted to the rank of detective by the community where he worked for a decade. In his honor, the Detective Christopher Jones Foundation raises funds to help the community and also awards scholarships to high school graduates. The scholarships go to students planning to major in criminal justice.

Fire Decimates Falls Township Mobile Home

A early morning fire destroyed a mobile home in Fairless Hills on Friday.

A raging fire destroyed a mobile home in the 100 block of Hover Road in the Fairless Hills section of Falls Township early Friday morning. Fire crews from around Levittown were dispatched to the mobile home park just before 2 a.m. and arrived to find fire coming from the scene, emergency reports stated. Crews immediately went into service and were able to stop the flames, reports indicated. The fire claimed one mobile home and a neighboring unit suffered heat damage. According to a report on PhillyFireNews.com, one person was treated by the Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad for a laceration wound. Friday Snow Hits Levittown

A minor winter storm hit the area Friday afternoon and ended just after nightfall. Share your snow photos with us.

Friday's snow fell fast and left little problems around the lower portion of Bucks County. The storm started in the late afternoon and the cold temperatures let the small glittery flakes stick immediately to the ground. In the end, the Levittown region was left with about an inch or two of powdery snow. In Middletown, I-95 appeared clear as the storm wound down and Route 1 in Falls seemed to be just wet. Throughout the day on Friday, road crews from local municipalities and PennDOT were seem spreading salt and brine on the major paths through the area.
