Levittown Awakes to Snow

After an overcast day of light rain and sleet, snow began falling Friday night in Levittown.

After days of hype, Levittown awoke to find a healthy covering of heavy, wet snow outside. The storm dumped several inches of snow by early Saturday morning. Local municipal, state and private crews worked to clear local roads and parking lots. The streets of Langhorne Borough and Maple Avenue in Middletown Township were partly clear just after midnight Saturday. As the snow picked up, it became evident road crews began to have trouble keeping the streets clear. The storm put the county under a winter storm warning and forced local school districts to cancel events. The overnight snow is part of a larger system which has crippled major cities like Boston and New York with more than a foot of snow.

Told Asplunge (how ever spelled) and Peco and still nothing. Wonder what it will take for someone to get out here and get it off his house. What to crash through his roof and hurt someone is that what…   more ›

Levittown Area Avoids Heaviest Snowfall

Saturday's snow storm didn't bring much snow to Levittown.

Disappointed looks filled many snow lovers faces throughout the area Saturday. The snow storm the National Weather Service predicted could bring as much as four inches to the Levittown area was a bust. Parts of northern Middletown received about an inch. Just several miles away in the lower portion of the area, some were lucky to see even a coating. "This storm was a snowtease," Levittown resident Todd Miller said on Facebook. No serious weather-related accidents were reported in Levittown during the day. The parking lots in the area were slushy, but Route 1 remained wet, Cheryl Anne Strausbaugh-Blood said on social media. Accumulation north of Levittown was between one and four inches, PhillyWeather.net reported. A chance of rain and snow…

Early Snowfall Fizzles in Levittown

Let us know what it looks like outside your home.

Residents around the Levittown area awoke to a light coating of snow Thursday morning. The snow, which is part of a nor’easter, began falling in the later afternoon hours and never really stuck to major road surfaces in the region. The National Weather Service issued a winter storm advisory and a high wind advisory in anticipation of the storm. The high wind advisory was canceled before the sundown. Some grassy surfaces and cars were covered with snow, but the majority of roadways remained clear. PennDOT road crews could be seen spreading salt on busy area roadways as the sun began to set Wednesday evening. The weather service forecasted a majority of the snow to be over 9 a.m. Thursday A high of 45 degrees will follow. The storm came a …
