A 27-year-old man from Montgomery County made threats and tried to force his way into his ex-girlfriend's Falls Township house.
“I thought you had a guy inside” That was the excuse police say John French, 27, of Gladwyne, told his ex-girlfriend on Tuesday after he made threats and tried to force entry into her home in the 1000 block of Bristol Pike in the Morrisville section of Falls Township, according to an affidavit. A police officer was on the phone with the victim at 10:45 p.m. when he heard French banging on the door and cursing in the background. When all failed, French pleaded with his ex to let him in, police said. Officers responded and took the 27-year-old into custody, police said. The Food Center at Morrisville Presbyterian Church is looking for some help. The food bank is looking for volunteers to help to keep up with their busy demand on Wednesday mornings, according to the church. Food Center is in the most need of "personal shoppers" to assist the food bank's clients through the food selection area. "It's easy, and carts are available, so no heavy lifting is necessary," a statement released by the church read. Volunteers to help with behind-the-scenes work are needed so the center remains stocked to help the community, the church said in a Facebook post. The center is open every Wednesday morning and is also open the first Tuesday of the month for working families. Roughly 12,000 people receive help from the …

Falls Township Police are investigating two armed robberies that both occurred Friday, Jan. 18 within the same hour. At about 9:03 p.m., a white male wearing a puffy blue jacket entered the Game Stop in the Fairless Hills Shopping Center and ordered everyone to the ground and the point of a black revolver. He then removed an unknown amount of money from the cash register and was last seen fleeing on foot toward the old Walmart. Anyone with information is being asked to call Detective O’Connell at 215-949-9100. Then, at about 9:51 p.m., three black males entered the Subway at Plaza Two Shopping Center in Morrisville. A 35-year-old Falls Township man was arrested late last week on charges he had sex with two high-school aged girls.
Two teens say that a 35-year-old Falls Township man had sex with them in the months of October and November. Benjamin Gartside, 35, of the Morrisville section of the township was arrested Friday on two counts of felony statutory sexual assault on a minor, aggravated indecent sexual assault, corruption of minors, child pornography and other offenses. The incidents were uncovered when the parents of a 15-year-old made a report with township authorities in early December stating their underage daughter and Gartside had allegedly engaged in a sexual relationship, a criminal complaint said. An official confirms that the annual Thanksgiving Day football game between Bristol Borough High School and Morrisville High School is off. The tradition, which began in the late 1920s, was canceled because the Bristol Borough Warriors are set to play in the PIAA Class A football playoffs Saturday afternoon in Souderton. As of Wednesday afternoon, a district official said the game will not likely be rescheduled. The Harry S. Truman and Conwell-Egan high school football teams are still set to meet Thanksgiving morning for the Bristol Township Mayor’s Bowl. The annual game is set to start at 10 a.m. at Truman.
A police dog lead officers right to the feet of their suspect.
With the help of a Falls Township police dog, officers were able to track a burglary suspect from the scene of the crime to his house. Morrisville resident Michael Willmer, 23, was arrested Tuesday morning and charged in connection with a burglary that was reported in the township. According to police, Willmer entered a home when the residents were asleep and took $450 worth of items from the house. Police Officer Thomas Lundquist and his K-9 partner, Trigger, responded to the call and began to track the scent of the suspected burglar. The pooch and his handler followed Willmer's scent from the victimized residence to the Adler Drive home of the suspect. In the hours before Hurricane Sandy hit the region, several area SWAT teams descended upon the Air Liquide chemical facility on Steel Road West in Falls for a large training operation. The drill involved multiple dangerous situations that brought together patrol and specially trained officers. Emergency medical personnel were also involved in the exercise. SWAT units comprised of officers from Bristol, Bensalem, Falls and Philadelphia handled a active shooting situation in the Air Liquide offices. Behind the brick office building, hazmat SWAT officers drilled on how to deal with a tactical situation involving dangerous chemicals. A 27-year-old former Middletown resident is being charged in connection with a deadly Falls Township crash that happened in 2011.
A 27-year-old woman charged with homicide by vehicle and involuntary manslaughter surrendered to Falls Township police Thursday. The charges against Ashley Sheridan of Perkiomenville stem from a October 2011 car accident that happened on the roadway that connects Route 1 to Route 32 (River Road/Bridge Street) in the Morrisville section of Falls. The victim, Mary McGrath, 66, of Morrisville died in June. She remained in medical care since the mid-day car crash that left her with "critical injuries," according to an affidavit of probable cause.
