The clothing retrieval will be held on Saturday in Fairless Hills.
The county has announced that Consumer Protection officials will be at the Payless Dry Cleaners location at 150 Lincoln Highway in Fairless Hills. The retrieval event will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, the county said. According to a post on the county’s Facebook, all clothing “items previously found to be unprocessed, have now been removed from the bins and cleaned.” The county urged those who had clothes at the shuttered cleaners make every attempt to get their belongings. At the first retrieval event at the end of October, hundreds of people came out to get clothing items that were in the dry cleaners and tailoring shop. The county is working to help hundreds of people get their garments back from the business that closed recently without warning.
Hundreds of people lined up outside Payless Dry Cleaners Saturday morning to attempt to retrieve clothes they dropped off at 150 Lincoln Highway in Fairless Hills before the location closed unexpectedly last week. One woman, a Langhorne resident, said she watched as another woman rummaged through a bin looking for her mother’s wedding dress. In the end, the woman found it. However, many were not so lucky on Saturday. Bucks County consumer investigator Lynn Hanes said the dry cleaners and tailoring shop had clothes everywhere. Customers whose clothes were held hostage when Payless Cleaners in Fairless Hills closed unexpectedly recently will have the opportunity to retrieve their items on Saturday. The Bucks County Consumer Protection Department and other officials will be at the discount dry cleaner location at 150 Lincoln Highway from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Why do businesses do this? Why don't they just call customers, tell them they'll be closing and to come get their clothes, clean or not, and not take any more customers! What's so hard about that? Even if people couldn't get their money back, I'm sure they'd be happy to get their clothes back.   more ›
