Neshaminy School District Superintendent Robert Copeland reassures the community that district schools are prepared for emergency situations.
Just like communities across the country, the Neshaminy community is morning the loss of life in the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT. "No words can adequately express the senseless taking of innocent lives. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the parents, family members, school staff and community members. Our nation is rocked by this event, and our own community is reeling from what happened and the ever present possibility of what could happen here or somewhere else," Neshaminy Superintendent Robert Copeland said. Neshaminy parents, taxpayers and students will have the opportunity to meet with the district's new superintendent, Robert Copeland, Saturday mornings.
Robert Copeland began his tenure as Neshaminy School District's new superintdent today, October 1. As a part of his new position with the district, he has scheduled "Breakfast with Superintdent" meetings throughout the school year. According to a letter Copeland posted on the district's website, these meetings are "a great time to talk about what matters most; your children and our schools." The forums will be held Saturday mornings at 9 a.m. in the board room of the administrative offices at Maple Point Middle School. The scheduled dates are October 20, December 15, February 9, March 16, April 13, May 11 and June 8. Do you plan on attending any of these meetings?

The Neshaminy School Board elected Robert Copeland as the district's new superintendent.
Robert Copeland is Neshaminy School District's new superintedent. He follows in the shoes of Louis Muenker, who retired in June after 20 years of service in the district. Copeland, who was elected by the Neshaminy School Board Wednesday night in a special public meeting, comes to Neshaminy after serving about 11 years at the Piscataway School District in New Jersey. "I am so much looking forward to coming to work here in Neshaminy," Copeland said after the board unanimously approved the motion to hire him. In addition, Copeland said that he looks at serving as Neshaminy's superintendent as a "stewardship" and is looking forward to "moving the district forward."
