Doreen has written for several Philadelphia area newspapers. She is a respected freelance journalist, award-winning blogger and best-selling author. As President of Intrepid Marketing Inc. She consults with those who want to write a book on all things writing, publishing and marketing.She is an active member of and sits on the board of Family Promise of Delaware County, is a counselor for SCORE and a member of the Press Club of Delaware County and the Delco Chamber of Commerce.

Doreen is an outspoken advocate for the elderly who are often victimized and too embarrassed to report the crime, an advocate for all victims of crime (former board member for the Network of Victims Assistance [NOVA] Pennsylvania’s largest comprehensive victim service organization, works to end the stigma surrounding mental illness, suicide and homelessness.
