GPS Devices Become Common Target For Bristol-Area Thefts

Bristol Township police reported a series of thefts over the holiday weekend.

GPS and change, valued at $150, were stolen sometime overnight from a vehicle parked at Ritter Avenue in Bristol, police reported at 10:25 a.m. on Nov. 23. 

Police said a thief entered a home on Forest Street in Bristol through a basement window and took copper piping. It happened sometime between Nov. 16 and 10:07 p.m. on Nov. 23.

A GPS and cash, valued at $150, were stolen from two Fords parked at Dixon Avenue in Croydon sometime overnight, police reported at 8:27 a.m. on Nov. 24. 

Police said a thief took a GPS, valued at $150, from a 2006 Suzuki parked at Penn Valley Avenue in Bristol sometime overnight. The crime was reported at 10:05 a.m. on Nov. 24.

A thief took a GPS and belt buckle, valued at $232, from a 2004 Honda that was parked at Dixon Avenue in Croydon, police reported at 7:08 p.m. on Nov. 24.  

Also on Dixon Avenue in Croydon, police said sometime overnight a parked 2011 Chevrolet was broken into and a GPS and cash worth $212 were stolen. It was reported to police at 9:16 p.m. on Nov. 24. 

Numerous pieces of surveying equipment, worth $50,000, were stolen sometime overnight from a 2004 Chevrolet that was parked at Garfield Street in Croydon, police said. It was reported at 6:14 a.m. on Nov. 25. 

Police said items worth $960 -- a GPS, iPod video, iPod transmitter and three CDs -- were stolen sometime overnight from a 1996 Chevrolet that was parked at Kingwood Lane in Levittown. It was reported at 12:58 p.m. on Nov. 25. 

A 2000 GMC was parked at Ritter Avenue in Bristol when police said a thief took a GPS and two cell phones, worth $500, sometime overnight, police reported at 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 25. 

Copper, valued at $450, was stolen from the basement of a home on Wyoming Avenue in Croydon, according to police. It was reported at 8:02 p.m. on Nov. 25. 

Police said a purse, worth $75, was stolen from the counter of a location on Veterans Highway in Bristol. It happened at 1:31 a.m. on Nov. 26. 

A GPS, worth $900, was stolen from a 2008 Chevrolet that was parked at Ailanthus Lane in Levittown, police reported at 8:01 a.m. on Nov. 26. 

Police said a $200 GPS was stolen from a 2000 Chevrolet that was parked at Aster Lane in Levittown sometime overnight. It was reported at 8:36 a.m. at Nov. 26.  

A thief broke into a 2008 Mitsubishi, parked at April Lane in Levittown, and took a $195 GPS, police reported at 11:30 a.m. at Nov. 26.  

A $200 GPS was stolen from a 2001 Buick, parked at Azalea Lane in Levittown, sometime overnight. It happened at 1:10 p.m. on Nov. 26. 

Copper wiring, worth $1,000, was stolen from a storage shed at a location on Grundys Lane in Bristol sometime between 5 p.m. on Nov. 26 and 5 a.m. on Nov. 27. Police reported at 5:41 a.m. on Nov. 27.

A GPS, worth $200, was stolen from a 2000 Dodge, parked at Ritter Avenue in Bristol, sometime overnight, police said. It was reported at 3:57 p.m. on Nov. 27. 

Police said a theif took a GPS, worth $150, from a 2009 Pontiac that was parked at Margin Road in Levittown sometime between 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 26 and 1:30 a.m. on Nov. 27. It was reported at 9:07 p.m. on Nov. 27.
