Apply For Veteran ID Discount Cards On Saturday

Program offers substantial savings to county veterans.

The Bucks County Veterans ID Discount Card program is back on the road and coming to Levittown.

The Bucks County Recorder of Deeds staff, which administers the program, will be on hand on Saturday during the 27thAnnual Donald W. Jones Flag Memorial event in Levittown.

“We want to reach out to as many of our county veterans as possible,” Bucks County Recorder of Deeds Joseph J. Szafran Jr. said. “The veteran community deserves the many discounts available to them.”

Hosted by the Delaware Valley Vietnam Veterans, the event takes place at Falls Township Park at 9072 Mill Creek Road. The program will be available during the event between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Interested veterans must bring their original DD-214 form in order for the Recorder of Deeds staff to proceed with issuing the cards. For more information on the program call 215-348-6209.

To date, more than 190 Bucks County businesses have agreed to offer substantial veterans discounts (5-20 percent on merchandise and services) to those holding the Bucks County Veterans ID card, and more are signing up to participate each day.To register a business to participate in the Veterans ID Card Discount Program, please call Betty Carleo in the county Veterans Affairs office at 215-345-3885 or visit www.BucksCounty.org to fill out a form stating intent to take part. A list of participating businesses is available on the county website, as well.
